A Case of Esophageal Foreign Body Complicated with Lung Abscess.

This is a case of the Esophageal foreign body `complicated with mediastinitis and lung abscess. Twenty seven year old Korean boy swallowed a curved wire about two months before admission to the 36th Army Hospital
Chest film taken at our hospital revealed the wire at the level of the 2nd narrowing portion of the esophagus and dense homogenous shadow oblitering right apical region of the lung.
We performed right upper lobectomy and removed the wire successfully from the postero-lateral aspect of the esophagus about one inch above the azygos vein.
Post operatively the course was uneventful.
